We are a not-for-profit, non-residential advocacy center controlled by and serving persons with disabilities. Since its opening in 1980, LICIL has worked with thousands of Long Islanders with disabilities and their families and has also been a unique resource for other professionals who provide disability related services. Our Center’s mission is to promote empowerment through education, information and rallying behind issues that directly impact the daily lives of persons with disabilities. Action Alert: Urge Congress to Support a 3-Year, Clean Extension of the Enhanced Health Care Tax Credit
We’re sharing an important Action Alert in coordination with Families USA and national partners regarding a critical vote in the U.S. House that could impact affordable health coverage for millions.
In December, House Democrats, joined by four Republicans, passed a discharge petition to bring a clean three-year extension of the enhanced premium tax credits to the House floor. The House could vote on this bill as soon as today, and the outcome remains uncertain.
