As the evenings become crisp and leaves begin to fall, check out what we’ve got in store!

EMERGENCY HOUSING FOR FAMILIES: presented by Marc Ross Miller, Ph.D., Director of Housing

Guest Speaker: Evol Sweeney, of New Ground, whose focus is on breaking the cycle of homelessness. New York State Reports the homeless population has increased by 33% from 2022 to 2025 on Long Island.

PROMOTING HEALTH THROUGH YARN CRAFT: presented by Laura Nugent-Carter

Knitting can be used as a tool for relaxation, to minimize anxiety, to help relieve stress, and to refocus the mind. You will learn the basics of knitting as a method to feel better, to focus, and to relax. Monday, October 20, 2025, 2-3pm.

Based on interest, LICIL plans to establish this workshop as an ongoing group.

SHAVING CREAM ART: presented by Johanna Bogensberger

Experiment with watercolor ink in a new and exciting way using shaving cream. This class will include quick and easy tutorials on the process. Seat capacity is 10. Tuesday, October 21, 2025, 1-4pm.

OLMSTEAD HOUSING SUBSIDY (OHS) Program, the RAPID TRANSITION HOUSING (RTH) Program & the NURSING HOME TRANSITION and DIVERSION MEDICAID WAIVER: Hosted by Marc Ross Miller, Ph.D., Director of Housing

These programs focus on preventing institutionalization and ensuring seniors and people with disabilities can afford accessible, safe, sanitary, and sustainable housing in the community. A guest speaker from the New York Association on Independent Living will present an overview of these valuable programs. Thursday, October 23, 2025, 2-3pm.

TOTE BAG ART: presented by Johanna Bogensberger

Learn how to print a fun tote bag for the fall season. Supplies will be provided. Seat Capacity is 10.

Thursday, October 23, 2025, 4-8pm.

MEDICAID/MEDICARE SAVINGS PROGRAM : presented by Rhonda Morgan, Director of Benefits Advisement with Guest Speaker Evelyn Gonzalez from Health and Welfare Council of Long Island.

An overview of the program will include the mechanics of applying for and how to successfully be approved.

Monday, October 27, 2025, 2-3pm.

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

ROBERT MAURO ART STUDIO

Study the basics of drawing, composition, and perspective with Johanna Bogensberger. Create beautiful paintings using watercolor, acrylic, pastels, and pencil. All art supplies are provided. These workshops are easy, simple, and fun. If you have any questions call LICIL at 516-796-0144.

Every Tuesday afternoon from 1pm-4pm and every Thursday evening from 4pm-8pm.

LICIL’S ANNUAL ART EXHIBIT NOVEMBER 2025

This year’s Art Exhibit will be held at the Levittown Public Library throughout the month of November 2025. All Artists from LICIL’s art classes are proud to showcase their creations. See and experience their amazing talent! Join us on November 19^th for a Meet & Greet Reception held at the Levittown Library–1 Bluegrass Lane, Levittown, NY 11756 from 2:00pm-3:30pm.

HOLIDAY FUN KARAOKE

During the holiday season come to the popular KARAOKE Party, hosted by the one and only Karaoke DJ Frank Mauro. If you want to have some fun and laughs, come to this happy party and bring a friend, the more the merrier. Light refreshments will be served. Don’t miss out on the fun on Friday, December 12, 2025, 6:30pm-8:30pm.
